The Art of Weaving Khadi
Cotton
We use 100% cotton & no synthetics.
Roving
Cotton fibers are combed and twisted into soft strands, making them ready for spinning.
Spinning
The roving is spun into yarn using hand-operated spinning wheels like the charkha.
Dyeing
The spun yarn is dyed using natural or synthetic dyes to achieve desired colors.
Warping
Threads are arranged in parallel on a loom to form the warp, the foundation of weaving.
Winding
The yarn is wound onto bobbins or spindles for ease of handling during weaving.
Weaving
Warp and weft threads are interlaced on a handloom to produce fabric.
Printing
Patterns are applied to the fabric using block printing, screen printing, or other techniques.
Quilting
Layers of fabric are stitched together to create textured patterns or provide insulation.
Kasuti
The women artisans engage in our traditional "Kasuti" hand embroidery.
Tailoring
The finished fabric is cut and sewn into garments or other products.
Eco-packaging
The garments are packaged using sustainable and biodegradable materials.
